Marketing Derby

A big thankyou to everyone who managed to battle through the weather and attend our Marketing Derby event in the prestigious surroundings of Donington Grand Prix Museum.

For those who missed it due to the weather we thought we would give you a summary of the event and of course, show you the video that Sam described as

We think everyone enjoyed the free access to the museum and the catering and drinks kindly provided by our long standing sponsor and friends at the Chequered Flag micro-bar located in Castle Donington village.

Thanks to Cactus Images for some of the photos. Somehow, they managed to win the raffle twice!

We hosted in the aptly named Senna Suite and even had Sam’s Renault Clio Race car in the room on display, complete with Marketing Derby logo on the bonnet.

Sam’s presentation

Sam explained to Bondholders in the Senna Suite at Donington, that even though he was just 22, he had already reached 10 years of competitive racing. Starting in karting he soon reached the very front of the British National Championships, before moving up to racing cars at 17.

Fellow Bondholder and charity The Maria Hanson Foundation were also in attendance at the Donington Park event to support Randon. Sam made an offer to Marketing Derby to see if they could help crowdfund together to get the Marketing Derby logo on TV – AND send families dealing with serious illness on a much needed holiday via Maria’s charity, Me&Dee. Father Neil explained to the Bondholders at Donington that there are many ways Bondholders can support Sam – it’s not just cold hard cash!

1. Follow us on social media @SamRandonRacing on Twitter and Facebook. It really matters and social media reach is a key selling point in motorsport.
2. Introductions and referrals are crucial to generating sponsorship.
3. Networking is key to our funding. Cold calls have a tiny success rate. We need names, emails, telephone numbers.
4. Please consider our marketing derby crowdfunding offer. Sam would love to raise enough money to make a real difference for Maria this year.
5. Services deals are also of interest. Hotel chains for accommodation near circuits, Motorhome companies for the loan of vehicle on race weekends, bodyshop repairs / paint, printing services, branded clothing, hospitality or events companies, insurance, accountancy, sports photography / video, web site services, marketing companies, press / publicists.
